Have you ever stayed stuck in a terrible traffic?If so,you can understand what people feel when they have to reach a place immediately.My hometown,Ankara, is a perfect place with its social activities,parks and shopping centers,but recently it has been experiencing a serious transportation problem.Then,what are the factors that cause the problem of transportation in Ankara?There are three main reasons which make this problem worse and worse.
The first reason,I think the most important one,People prefer to use private cars instead of using public transportation.People migrate to ankara,which is the second developed city of Turkey to take advantage of job oppurtunity.This means that there are too many cars whose number is almost equal to the number of people.As a result,transportation problem is increasing day by day.
Another reason is improper parking.People park their cars on the streets due to excessive parking fees.This leads to traffic jam in the mornings and evenings when everybody tries to reach his/her work,school or house.Improper parking narrows roads,so cars and buses have to slow down in order to give way to the another car.
The last reason is lack of underground lines and buses.People living in Ankara have been suffering from this problem every day.people who are lucky to get on a bus generally stay without seat.when they arrive their work or school,they have already got tired due to standing for hours.This causes concentration disorders and inefficiency.
To summarize,Ankara is a developed and modern city except for its transportation problem.If you want to live in Ankara,you shouldn't ignore this problem.We can help reduce this problem using public transportation instead of private cars.this solution not only contributes to reducing traffic jam,it also contributes to reducing air pollution.

IDEAL HUSBAND
Are you aware of what qualities should your husband have?All women evaluate their partner according to some criteria.The person with whom I will spend my whole life should have some special features.
First of all,I want a husband who is responsible for his duties.He should have a permanent work which provides enough income to support our lives.I want a husband who will take care of me and our children when I am busy and sick,a husband who will be a good father, a good friend for me and my children.He should support our children when they are in trouble.I want a husband who will take them to the outside,play them or help them in their lessons.
Secondly,I want a husband who is intelligent and cultured so that we can make chats about everything.I want a husband who arranges surprises in our special days such as our wedding day,my birthday etc.My husband should be understanding and respectful to me.I want a husband who is friendly and humanist, a husband who will love me forever.He should also love people,animals,nature and should work for the benefit of mankid.
Thirdly,I want a husband who will not bother me with trivial things,but he should share his daily experiences with me.He should be honest even if he makes mistakes.I want a husband who will be sensitive to my ideas and desires.I want a husband who will respect my family member and my friends.My husband should keep away from alcohol and cigarette.I want a husband who will take care of himself ,a husband who is well-groomed and meticulous.

AN UNFORGETTABLE NATURAL DISASTER(group assignment)
Have you ever witnessed any catastrophe? Have you ever tried to stand against a disaster, for example,a destructive flood?We have a great story about it.Ali was a child who had a big family with three siblings, parents and grandparents.They were staying in an old house which was situated on the outskirts of a mountain. They were struggling to make a living, but anyway, they were happy. When he was 10 years old,he experienced an unsustainable and unbelievable event that he would never forget.
A child’s cryings
It was a sunny morning when I looked at the windows; yet, the air was quietly moist and it seemed that it was going to rain. After I had my breakfast,I set off for my school whose road is rough and rocky. While I was walking along the road,the air was getting dark clouds more and more. Along with the black clouds, I was also getting worried. Our house was at the bottom of the village and there was a river near it. It was approximately two meters above the river. My school was on the other side of the hill and it was three miles away.Fortunately, I managed to reach the school before the rain. When the school was over,the rain had already become heavier making the roads muddy and I was confused because this was the first time I had seen such a heavy rain in my life.
A sound in my heart said to me that I should run to my house and warn my family about the flood. When I reached the peak of the hill,the river had reached the same degree of our home and flood was entering our home.My family was in the house because they could not go out due to sudden flood. I wanted rescue them,so I started to run. I wasn’t running, was virtually like flying. While the water was getting fill up home. I took a deep breathe as if I was also inside the house. When I reached home,the river had broken down our home and my little sister was rolling in the flood.I couldn’t do anything except for looking after her.I was shocked…
Villagers and we tried to find out my little sister during the night.but we couldn’t find her because everywhere was full of mud which made our searching restrict.The next day when the water was pulled down,we found my sister’s dead body.it was a tragedy.My little sister had gone missing out of my hands! Her last screams are still eroding my ears…
There was nothing to do for my sister.Her dead body was lying on the ground.Her face was in mud.I couldn’t see her white skin,but her eyes was clear. She seemed as if she was looking at the world,the sky, the people.Her hair was untidy.When I first saw her dead,motionless body,I remembered the first scene of missing out of my hands.She was screaming and wanted me to rescue from her fate.I couldn’t do anything except for watching the deadful event.Now, she was dead.My father embraced her for the last time.My mother’s high scream was the only sound.I was motionless as if my mind,my arms and everything belonging to me were dead.The only thing,her last scream,was in my mind. I know I can not see her again,but every day,I pray to God to show her in my dreams…

IS IT HELPFUL OR NOT?(opinion essay)
Most cultures have traditional treatments that have been used for many years.These treatmens may not be scientific,but they seem to work.I believe that alternative treatment is helpful when it is supported by conventional treatments.
The term nonconventional medicine or alternative medicine describe healing treatments that are not part of conventional medical training like yoga,massage therapy, acupuncture,laugh therapy or herbal medicine.Many of these alternative techiques come from all over the world and people use them to feel themselves much better...Especially,in recent years nonconventional medicine has become popular among people because medicine has lots of side-effects apart from its benefits.Today's people are looking for ways which are less harmful although there are lots of doctors who are successful on their field and support alternative medicine to some extent.
People often turn to nonconventional treatments when they have a long-lasting problem that conventional medicine hasn't completely cured.For example,someone who has seen a doctor for years about cancer might try using alternative treatments in addition to medicine treatment.However,some people feel that it is not worthy spending money or time for these kind of things which have not been proven scientifically,but I don't think so,it will be beneficial as long as used with medical treatments.

COMPARE AND CONTRAST PARAGRAPH ABOUT TWO FILMS
Angela's Ashes and The Miracle Worker are two famous films about the theme of difficulties in life.They have several things in common.First,both are dramatic films which tell the real lives of Helen Keller and Frank McCourt.A second similarity in these two movies is that main characters try to overcome their obstacles with the help of great perseverance.Apart from their similarities,they have some differences.For example;The Miracle Worker is about Helen's disability due to a sudden illness,but in Angela's Ashes Frank lives in poverty and misery life with his family.When compared to Helen who can not see and hear,Frank is luckier because he has no physical handicap.To sum up,although both are succesful and well-played I think Angela's Ashes is much more effective than the other in terms of its visual and sound effects.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE(revised descriptive essay)
Every time when I find an oppurtunity to go somewhere I go to my beautiful village.It is my favourite place..It takes approximately one hour from the main city,Ankara,by car to reach.I like it in terms of its clear nature and location.I spend my childhood there with my grandparents.They grew me up and treat me like their child.I love them very much.perhaps I like this small village so much as I grew up there.Yeşilöz is a beautiful vllage which is located in a wonderful green valley.It takes its name from its charming green environment.There are lots of trees on the streets.Also,it is sorrounded with mountains and it has a river which flows into the other villages.Once,it used to be so clean that people would drink its water.However,nowadays it has started to be dirty so animals living there have been affected very badly.Unfortunately,if some precautions aren't taken to save them,we will encounter more trajic situations.Despite this terrible situation I like to be there...Our small,wooden house is by the river.Whenever I am in the balcony I take a deep breath full of clean air and smell the colourful flowers in our front garden.This makes me more energetic and happy.I feel secure,peace and happy.My most favourite time in the village is nights.We can hear the sounds of frogs and see the wonderful visual combination of flyfires.This is breathtaking...When there is a moon,I enjoy looking at the stars.I spend enjoyable time after the dinner taking with my small family.We sit in our balcony and tell funny stories looking back to our past experiences.All these sensations give me an impression of happiness,freedom and peace.Whenever I am there,I forget all other sorrow things.For these reasons,Yeşilöz is my favourite place.

OUR SPECIAL FESTIVAL(process essay)
Every year all of my villagers celebrate a special festival whose name is "Çınar Dibi Festival".It takes place in July,but its exact date depends on the day when everyone is in the village.In this special day every person especially people living there make some preparations a few days in advance.
To get ready for this festival a number of items must be prepared.Firstly,the mayor of village posts lots of posters to annunce the date and the locatıon of it.Then,women clean all streets and prepare some special foods for our guests.They are really delicious and different.
In addition to announcing it,the mayor arranges some activities such as theatres and competitions to make it more enjoyable.He also invites some singers working in TRT.At sunset a group whose name is"Ankara Seymenleri"comes to square to show their traditional dance.Thanks to them this festival becomes a day we will never forget.
In the evening,men light a fire in the centre of the village.Around it both women and men get togetter to watch this huge fire.At the same time,drummers come to square and people dance around the fire even some of them jump over the fire.Despite being dangerous it is the most common tradition in my village.
In conclusion,it is an enjoyable festival for me.I look forward to this special day every year with my friends.I hope that it will last every summer without delaying.

ORGAN DONATION(argumentative essay)
How do you feel when you have to wait something you couldnt live without?All over the world more than 88,000 men,women and children are currently waiting for life-saving transplants.I think organ donation is one way for anyone to help save the lives of others.
Each day about 74 people a day receive an orgen transplant;however,approximately 6300 people die waiting for donors.These statistics show that lots of people are waiting our helps to continue thir lives.
Imagine that how people may feel when they are in hospitals waiting for a healthy organ.This is a really sad situation for them and their family,isn't it?Because of the lack of people willing to donate organs many people will have to wait in hospitals.There are not any choice for them to live except for a healthy organ.
Organ donation is a topic which contains many conflicting views.Some people oppose to donating their organs.They think that it is not suitable in terms of ethical and religion.On the other hand,some believe that saving anyone's life is the most sacred thing in the world and this can not be thought unacceptable.

MY OWN LITTLE WORLD(sample descriptive essay)
The door to my study is nearly always closed. It's the place I go to read and work in tranquility. Today, however, I'm inviting you in for a visit.
As you open the door, notice the Guatemalan crucifix with its bright gold and maroon flowers; it joyfully reminds me to dedicate my work to God. Although the room is small, I hope you find it cozy. A big cheerful window lets in the morning sunshine, which saturates the room with its warmth and embraces us with light. Birds chirp outside, beckoning you to enter.
An old-fashioned doctor's desk with brass drawer handles sits in front of the window, its wood full of nicks from many careless moves and tow once-teething puppies. May I introduce you to Ralph, my friendly computer, who sits on top of the desk? When I turn him on, he'll crackle "hello" and blink an inviting amber command on the screen. That's my dog Chico under the desk, snoring in harmony with Ralph and the birds.
Against the left wall are my book cases, sagging with the wise weight of cheap paperbacks and a few expensive gold-spined volumes interspersed. A bronzed Indian chief in a watercolor squints knowingly at us from the wall. Won't you have a seat in the tattered old green armchair nestled in the other corner? I know you smell the freshly perked coffee. I made it specially for your visit. Use my favorite cup there on the tray; it's the one with red and blued balloons around the rim. Stay as long as you wish, but when you're ready to leave, be sure to close the door behind you. I like the peaceful security of this, my own little world.

When couples have problems,wife or husband may fall in love with another person.This is the another reason of getting divorced.Apart from this,there are some important factors which make marriage unbearable such as beating,using alcohol,gambling and sexual problems.Sometimes couples have to continue their marriage for the sake of their children,but it is completely wrong.Growing in a family which has lots of problems affects children very badly.

SECRET BEAUTIES(comparision and contrast essay)
I have been in two different places which gave me an impression that in the future I must live in a small,natural place.One of them is Abana,where I enjoy the taste of silence and the other is Amasra which hugs me with its sincere hospitality and takes my all sorrows away...In fact,they are extremely similar to each other apart from a few differences.
First of all,both are situated on the coast of Black Sea Region,so there are lots of wooden-detached houses which have a breathtaking view.Amasra has many historical houses,castles and mosques.People especially native tourists come to see these touristic places.Because of its closeness to big cities such as Ankara and İstanbul it is always a favourite holiday place with its clean beach and green nature.Similarly,Abana has many wooden mansions.They are so magnificent that you can't help yourself taking some photos in front of them.Furthermore,when you walk around you can see lots of shops,cafes and restaurants where people eat their traditional food and buy souvenirs.
Despite their similarities,these places are a bit different.Life in Abana is more comfortable than Amasra.The first thing I notice is the people wearing jogging suits and walking in the Hacıveli Canyon.It is a wonderful canyon for people who want to be in nature.The second difference is the population of Abana.Especially in winters I can say that it is a dead place.There is not anybody apart from old people,but Amasra is always crowded with its dense population.

MY FAVOURITE PLACE(descriptive essay)
Every time when I find an oppurtunity to go somewhere I go to my beautiful village.It is my favourite place..It takes approximately one hour from the main city,Ankara,by car to reach.I like it in terms of its clear nature and location.
I spend my childhood there with my grandparents.They grew me up and treat me like their child.I love them very much.perhaps I like this small village so much as I grew up there.Yeşilöz is a beautiful vllage which is located in a wonderful green valley.It takes its name from its charming green environment.There are lots of trees on the streets.Also,it is sorrounded with mountains and it has a river which flows into the other villages.Once,it used to be so clean that people would drink its water.However,nowadays it has started to be dirty so animals living there have been affected very badly.Unfortunately,if some precautions aren't taken to save them,we will encounter more trajic situations.Despite this terrible situation I like to be there...
Our small,wooden house is by the river.Whenever I am in the balcony I take a deep breath full of clean air and smell the colourful flowers in our front garden.This makes me more energetic and happy.I feel secure,peace and happy.My most favourite time in the village is nights.We can hear the sounds of frogs and see the wonderful visual combination of flyfires.This is breathtaking...When there is a moon,I enjoy looking at the stars.I spend enjoyable time after the dinner taking with my small family.We sit in our balcony and tell funny stories looking back to our past experiences.
All these sensations give me an impression of happiness,freedom and peace.Whenever I am there,I forget all other sorrow things.For these reasons,Yeşilöz is my favourite place.
